June 20, 2025 | Chengdu—The Sichuan Provincial Department of Education released the list of approved projects for 2025 Provincial Innovative Experiment Program for Undergraduate Institutions, and the School of Economics and Management (SEM) at Southwest Jiaotong University is proud to be among the recipients.
The approved project, titled “An innovative experiment in digital and intelligent urban governance through a ‘government – industry – academia – research – application – innovation’ framework,” is led by Professor Han Ke, Dean of SEM, with key contributions from Associate Dean Professor Nie Jiajia and other faculty members. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time in recent years that an SEM-led initiative has been selected for this prestigious provincial program.
Building on this achievement, SEM will continue to reaffirms its strategic commitment to innovation-driven development, the integration of education and research, and deepened industry-academia collaboration. The school will proactively track emerging trends in science and technology, aligning its experimental teaching curriculum with real-world applications. By integrating cutting-edge research findings, advanced methodologies, and industry-relevant case studies into classroom practice, SEM aims to enhance the relevance, academic rigor, and innovation of its pedagogy.
This initiative is expected to foster students’ creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, cultivating high-caliber talents capable of addressing complex societal challenges. Ultimately, SEM seeks to strengthen its role in supporting national development strategies and contributing meaningfully to regional economic and social progress.
