January 13, 2025 | Chengdu—A delegation from the School of Economics and Management (SEM) at Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) , led by Professor Han Ke, Dean of SEM, conducted a high-level visit to AEROFUGIA (Sichuan), marking a significant step toward deepening collaboration between academia and industry in the emerging low-altitude economy sector.
The visit commenced with a tour of AEROFUGIA’s exhibition hall, hosted by Mr. Xiao Qianzhi, Chief Public Affairs Officer. The SEM delegation gained first-hand insights into the company’s cutting-edge technologies and innovative product portfolio in the low-altitude aerial mobility, highlighting AEROFUGIA’s technological leadership and market positioning.

At the meeting, Guo Liang, CEO and Chief Scientist of AEROFUGIA, extended a warm welcome to SEM delegation, and delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the company’s vision, core competencies, and strategic roadmap. He emphasized AEROFUGIA’s robust R&D capabilities—supported by a team of over 300 technical experts—as well as its growing footprint in the electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) ecosystem and future urban air mobility applications.
In response, Dean Han provided an overview of SWJTU and SEM, underscoring the school's academic excellence, academic research achievements, and distinctive strength in cultivating talent aligned with China’s transportation and infrastructure sectors. Ms. Yu Xiaoying, Deputy Secretary of SEM CPC Committee at SEM, further introduced the school’s educational programs and graduate employment outcomes, illustrating how SEM integrates innovation-driven pedagogy with real-world practice to develop high-caliber professionals for the global marketplace.
Discussion between both parties centered on collaborative opportunities in joint research, talent development, and interdisciplinary innovation within the rapidly evolving low-altitude economy. SEM and AEROFUGIA expressed strong mutual interest in establishing long-term partnerships to bridge academic insight with industrial application, fostering technological advancement and workforce readiness.

Faculty representatives from SEM’s Departments of Information System and Operation Management, Economics, Finance and Accounting, along with members from the Faculty Service Office and Student Affairs Centre, also participated in the exchange.
This strategic engagement not only enhanced the mutual understanding but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in research, education, and talent cultivation. The partnership is poised to become a model for university-enterprise synergy in one of China’s most dynamic frontier industries.
